Darwin NT Lawyers was established by Thiagus Cheliah a 30+ years veteran of the Northern Territory of Australia
After working as a lawyer since 2001 in Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright Australia) in Sydney and from 2004 in Ward Keller Darwin, Thiagus Cheliah set up a legal practice to provide high level personal, affordable and practical legal services.
Thiagus has more than 30 years of private- and public-sector experience and advises on all general commercial law and dispute matters, commercial and consumer loan documentation and acts for both borrowers and lenders.
Thiagus also advises in respect of asset protection, business succession (including shareholder and unit holder agreements), wills and estate planning. He has specialised skills in trust law (including SMSF law) also gained from of his tax and accounting background and is a SMSF Specialist (CPA). Also see "Areas of Law".
A former accountant, Thiagus held senior commercial accounting and analyst positions at Price Waterhouse, the Territory Revenue Office and in a financial institution before qualifying as a lawyer.
Thiagus has mainly lived in the NT since 1984 except for three years in Sydney working as a banking and finance lawyer, before returning to Darwin and joining Ward Keller in 2004, and in 2016 starting a legal practice.
Admitted as a Legal Practitioner in New South Wales (2000) and in the Northern Territory (2003)
